What is Ackermann steering?
The inside wheel turns more than the outside wheel. When a car turns, the inside front wheel is on a smaller circle than the outside one. Ackermann steering angles the arms so the inside wheel turns a bit more, and both tyres roll smoothly instead of scrubbing sideways.
